The problem with Gmail accounts

Gmail
Gmail, also known as Google Mail, is an email service with POP3 and IMAP options and a free storage fee. In addition to the option of receiving and sending emails, you can easily access other Google services, such as Google Hangouts or Google Talk, to send instant messages to our contacts and communicate by video and voice.

Gmail Accounts
Google acknowledged that a "problem" affects the identification of the accounts of some users, but ruled out that the incident is due to a security breach.
Since last night, Google users around the world were expelled from their accounts as well as applications that use their identification associated with it and urged to re-login.

"We know that some are having problems with identification, please try again, be calm, the security of your accounts was not compromised".

The 5 most common Gmail problems and How to solve them

Gmail is one of those services that you do not remember until they're gone. What do you do if you have Gmail problems and it does not work? When something bad happens, you need to fix it, but how? Fortunately, we are here to help you, as we are going to break down five of the most common problems with Gmail and how to solve them.

Google Dashboard

First of all, click on this link, then mark it as a favorite, just in case, tattoo it on your left bicep. This is the link to the Control Panel of the Google application. If you ever have an interruption, an alleged interruption, or a credible report of an interruption of any Google service - when Gmail does not work - this page will let you know. On the page, you'll see a list of all the applications in Google Suite, and a list of dates that lead to the current date. The orange dots indicate that there is or there was a problem. You can go to the date two months ago if necessary. Otherwise, if you are having problems with any Google application, this should be your first stop - at least, after reading this article.

Forget Password

One of the most common reasons why someone loses access to their gmail account is because they have forgotten their password. Not everyone can use the phrase "MargaretThatcheris100% sexy" as a password, so we understand. Fortunately, Google has a number of tools that you can use to recover that password. Warning - it's not fun. Have you ever noticed that every time you forget the password in another service such as Netflix, the option to recover it almost always is sending it by email? Well, that will not work if you're trying to sign in to an email account.
First, it is essential that you set up several alternative contact methods in partnership with your Google account. Log in to your Gmail account, click on your profile photo in the upper right corner -> My account. Under Access and security, click on "How to access Google". Then, scroll to the middle of the page to "Account Recovery Options." Make sure you have filled out these three options - Recovery email, Recovery phone and Security question. These are the recovery methods you can use to get access to your account again.
If you have not filled them out, and have already lost access to your account, then you can click on "Try differently" several times until you reach a point where they ask you questions about your account. Answer the questions as best you can and you will be given access to your account one more time.

Problems with Verification in Two Steps

Two-step verification is one of the best methods you can use to secure your account. Briefly, two-step verification adds a second layer to your security by requiring a second acknowledgment of an attempt to log on. For example, if you sign in to your gmail account, you will receive a text message with a code that you must enter in order to continue with the process. But, things never go well. Sometimes, the code does not arrive. So what?
First of all, you need to make sure that you are in a place with a good signal. Google sends authentication codes in two steps via Text Message, so if you are in a place with good Wi-Fi signal but not with a good phone signal, that will be part of the problem.
If so, you can use the Google Authenticator application. Simply download the application on your phone. Once it is installed, you will be asked how to verify the account. The easiest is with a QR code. On your computer, go to the authentication page in 2 steps, and scroll down to the Authenticator application. Enter the code in the "Verify" box on your computer, and link the phone to your account. From now on, you will use the Authenticator application to log in, instead of text message codes.
If it does not work, you can also choose to receive a call on your linked phone. Of course, this will still not work if you are in a place with a bad signal. However, you can choose to be a landline. The inconvenience of that option is that you have to be in the place where the landline is, but it is an option that you can consider.

Finally, if all of these fail, you can use the backup codes. Backup codes are sometimes used when you lose your phone, or you cannot receive verification codes in one way or another.

These codes must be generated in advance. Backup codes are a set of codes that you can use to log in to your account instead of your two-step verification. The backup codes come in a group of 10. These codes are for single use - they become inactive once you use them. If you generate a set of codes, all the codes of the previous group will be deactivated. Spoiler alert: I generate a new group of codes after having taken this screenshot.
To generate a group of codes, visit the verification page in two steps and scroll down to the Backup Codes area. Click on "Get new codes." This will generate a text file so you can download what will be called "Backup-codes-.txt.
If you want to use your backup code to log in, go to the Gmail page to log in and enter your username/password. When you are asked for 2-step verification, click on "More options" and then click on "Enter one of the eight-digit security codes." Enter your code, and that will be it.

Synchronization problems

Gmail may not be able to synchronize for many different reasons, and a synchronization failure may manifest itself in several ways. You may not have all your messages, you probably can not send emails, you may receive an error message "account not synchronized", or the same application may be very slow. In any of these cases, you can try several steps to return everything to normal.
1. Update the Gmail application. Sometimes, an old, outdated version of the application may have problems receiving emails from Google. Making sure you have the best and the latest version can solve many of the synchronization problems.
2. Restart your device. Have you already tried turning it off and on again? Yes, it's a topic, but surprisingly it works many times.
3. Check your connection. Yes, it's a stupid question, but we still have to do it anyway. You can avoid many unnecessary problems if you make sure you have a good signal and that you are not in Airplane mode, etc.
4. Check the settings of your Gmail. Should you make sure synchronization is enabled? No. But it is necessary to do. You may have accidentally pressed, and Gmail sync has been disabled, and nothing is syncing. Open the Gmail application, and press the menu button in the upper left corner -> Settings. Press your account and make sure you have selected "Sync Gmail."
5. Clean the data of the Gmail application. Open your device's Settings application -> Application manager -> Application information -> Gmail -> Storage -> Delete data -> Done. Once you're finished, restart your device and see if it could. Many times it does work.

Lost Messages

If your Gmail has lost messages that you sure exist, the most likely reason is that you accidentally deleted or archived them. You can easily check this by clicking on the Trash folder in Gmail. Many times you can find it by clicking "More" in the folder area, then click on "trash." If the email is there, it may be archived. In the same area where you clicked "More", search for "Everyone." There you will be shown all the emails, whether they are archived or not.
You can also search for emails in the search box. In the "Everyone" folder, look for the archived emails, but remember that it will not search the Trash folder. Most of the time, your mail will be in the trash or archived - It's not something strange to me. If you found the email in one of those places, click on it to open it, then click on the folder icon at the top, then choose "Inbox." That will recover the received mail and you will be able to see it as it normally is.

Extra! Gmail cannot be loaded (only for the browser)

If you are logging into Gmail with a browser, and the website does not load, there are several things you can try to get everything to work again as it should be again. First, you must make sure that you are using a compatible browser. You can find a list of compatible browsers on the Google help site. It can be said that most modern browsers will work, but I fear that Opera users will not have the same luck.
In general, browser extensions or applications can interfere with Gmail. A quick way to verify that is by trying to use Gmail in the private or incognito mode of the browser. If Gmail works there, then try disabling browser extensions one by one until you find the culprit.
Sometimes cookies or temporary files can also interrupt Gmail. Do the same test - use incognito mode - it's a quick way to test that behavior. If Gmail works in incognito mode, but it did not work even if you disabled the extensions, you can clean your cache and cookies do the trick.
Finally, you probably want to disable any Google Labs you are running. The easiest way to do it is by visiting this page. This will automatically disable any labs you are running so you can check Gmail without them. Again, if it works, try to disable all the labs, and re-enable them all at once. If Gmail fails again, you already have the culprit.
